Stair Lift Warranty Questions to Ask
Stair lift warranties are model-specific, so there isn't one term that applies to every lift. Coverage has two parts — the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment and the installer's coverage on labor. Heartland provides one year of free labor and service on its installations, with service fees after the first year. Manufacturer terms vary by model, so always read the warranty for the exact model you're buying.

Why there's no single answer
Manufacturers publish different terms for different models and components — motor, rail, batteries and electronics can each be treated differently. For example, AmeriGlide's owner's manual for the Rave II sets out its own warranty terms, which differ from what a general rule of thumb might suggest. That's why we give you the model-specific terms in writing instead of quoting a blanket figure.
Questions to get answered in writing
- What does the manufacturer warranty cover on this exact model, and for how long?
- What labor coverage does the installer provide?
- Does the warranty differ for a refurbished unit?
- Does coverage transfer if the home is sold or the lift is moved?
- What's required to keep the warranty valid, such as maintenance?
Common questions
- What warranty comes with a stair lift?
- There are two separate parts. The manufacturer's warranty covers the equipment and varies by model, so we don't quote one blanket term — the model-specific written terms come with your quote. Heartland separately provides one year of free labor and service on its installations; service fees apply after the first year.
