Stair Lift Maintenance, Service and When to Call
Stair lifts need periodic maintenance on a schedule set by the manufacturer for each model. Before calling for service, only do simple manufacturer-approved checks — power, key switch, obstructions. A visit within 72 hours may be possible, depending on workload and availability; timing must be confirmed and may be longer.

Safe checks you can do
- Is the lift plugged in, or parked on its charging point?
- Is the key switch (if fitted) turned on?
- Is anything on the stairs, rail or footrest blocking it?
- Is the seat fully turned and locked in its riding position?
What not to do
- Never bypass or tape down a safety switch or sensor
- Don't open covers or attempt electrical repairs
- Don't rely on model-specific beep or error codes from the internet — use your manual or call
